December 2012

  • Sat 1st Dec, 10am – 12.30pm, Mount Chapel:  Annual Christmas Sale, cakes, bric-a-brac, coffee, tea, biscuits, and pasties
  • Sat 8th Dec, 10am – 2pm, Jubilee Hall: Cardinham School Christmas Fayre, with lunches, mulled wine, mince pies, craft stands, alpaca knitwear, jewellery, home-wares, Neal’s Yard, with raffle (prizes include huge hamper full of Christmas food, an organic turkey and champagne
  • Tues 11th Dec, 7pm: Parish United Carol Service, St Bartholemew Church, Warleggan village – followed by invitation to Warleggan YFC mince pies, tea, coffee at Chykest, Warleggan
  • Sun 16th Dec, Jubilee Hall, 2.30pm – 5.30pm:  Children’s Christmas Party – parents are to bring a plate of food, and we’re asking Santa to limit presents for each child to £5  – all parents please ring Liz on 07917542876 or 01208 821499
  • Thurs 20th Dec, Jubilee Hall, 7.30pm:  Parish Meeting (incl. turbine application) – more info
  • Sun 23rd Dec, 5pm: Mount Chapel Christmas service with the Rev Sue Hill (followed by mince pies) – the previously announced 11 am service is now not taking place
  • Mon 24th Dec, 6.30pm, Christmas Eve – Carols by Candlelight, St Bartholemew Church, Warleggan village; following the candlelight service there will be mince pies and mulled wine at Chykest.

November 2012

  • Sun 11th Nov:  Remembrance Day at War Memorial (2.30pm, Mount crossroads)  – followed, for those who wish to attend, by service in church at 3pm – see church schedule
  • Fri 16th, 10am:  Village Greens shop reopens – note the late start time (as setting up will be delayed due to yesterday’s elections) – more info
  • Sat 17th Nov, 7.30pm, Jubilee Hall:  Piccadilly, a Carn to Cove production –  the silent movie called “Piccadilly” beautifully depicts London’s high and low society in the 1920s.  The ‘soundtrack’ is provided by ‘Wurlitza‘, the acclaimed live Cornish band, who will play live as the film shows.
  • Sat 24th Nov, 10 am to noon, Jubilee Hall:  Advent Bazaar  with bring and buy, cakes, tea/coffee, pasties, raffle etc. (see poster)
  • Sat 24th Nov: Coach trip to Exeter, departs Cardinham Parish Hall 9am, £10 a seat, book seats at 01208 821382, organised by Cardinham Bellringers
  • Tues 27th Nov, 7.30pm, Jubilee Hall:  Warleggan Parish & Planning Meeting agenda to include the setting of next year’s parish precept, and for the planning committee to consider Ocean Housing’s plan for nine dwellings in Mount

  • Sat/Sun, 29/30th Sept, 10am – 4pm: Open Day at Tremoreland Woodyard, PL30 4DW (Maidenwell) –  “From forest to fireplace” – demonstrations on forestry and wood processing, wood stoves and boilers in action, solar-thermal demo, charity firewood auction.  Food available;  entry free
  • Sun 30th Sept:  Charity Tractor Run, organised by Warleggan Young Farmers – £5 per tractor, 10 a.m. commence; 11 a.m. departure  – start-off point at Polmenna Farm PL14 6PD  – or sit in trailer £2/head –  there will be a bbq at lunchtime. Proceeds from the day will go to R.A.B.I, Help For Heroes and club funds

August 2012

  • Tues 7th Aug, 7.30pm:  Public Meeting with Ocean Housing to discuss latest plans on new housing in the village; followed by Parish Meeting to discuss Wind Turbine proposal; Jubilee Hall
  • Sat 18th Aug, 3.30pm:  Afternoon Tea at the ‘Cardinham Ritz’, Cardinham Parish Hall –  revisit bygone days with delicious homemade ‘Ritz’-style tea – an afternoon with gently musical accompaniment and sumptuous spread – £6/head, family tickets available.  More info, and to book your tea, call Libby 01208 821303;  in aid of St Meubred’s Church
  • (WAS Sun 19th Aug, 11am – 4pm):   POSTPONED Warleggan YFC Farm Fun Day POSTPONED at Trekillick Farm, with tractor & trailer rides from Bodmin Priory Car Park & Fair Park from 10.30am – water slide, face paints, bbq, main ring events, farm animals, etc. – dog show 2pm – £2 entry for adults, under 16s free – in aid of Royal Agricultural Benevolent InstitutionHelp for Heroes, and club funds

July 2012

  • Sun 1st July: St Neot and Cardinham Pre- School Summer Fair at St Neot playing field/scout pavilion  – incl. car boot sale, duck race, treasure hunt on foot, bouncy castle,face painting, ice creams and other refreshments
  • Wed 4th July, visit to the Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum at Trethowel, St Austell 6.00pm => history club
  • Fri 6th July, 5.30 – 7.30pm: Cardinham School Fayre,  at the Cardinham School field.  BBQ, Stalls, games, music and more…Everybody welcome and all proceeds go to the school.
  • Sat 14th July: St Neot Diamond Ball, glittering black tie event in a marquee, with great food, a band and dancing until the wee small hours. Tickets are £48 each – call Kath 01579 320131, Diana 01579 320839, or Lynn 01208 821652
  • Sat 21st July, 10am – 4pm(ish): Liz’s Great Attic Sale, at Jubilee Hall, Mount – big clear out, everything must go
