Cornwall Air Ambulance

At July’s royal opening of Air Ambulance HQ at St Mawgan Airport (Newquay), Camilla is seen shaking hands with a Warleggan parishioner…

Ian and Carole Watson have recently taken over the local collections for the Cornwall Air Ambulance due to the retirement of the previous person based in St Neot.

This essential facility servicing the whole of Cornwall has now been in operation for over 25 years doing an absolutely wonderful job.

However the cost of running this is now £30,000 per WEEK! The costs are covered totally by donations and contributions from many sources, one of the major ones being the Air Ambulance Lottery. There is no Government funding. The tickets cost just £1 per week with a one off cost of £1 as a joining fee to cover the set up costs. This is such a wonderful service and so many lives have been saved it seem such a small price to pay.

Either Ian and Carole are normally at the weekly Village Green coffee morning and would be delighted to welcome any new members. There is a weekly draw for a prize of £1000 with smaller amounts both cash, vouchers and goods.

We both look forward to seeing you.
