>>  Book the hall

The hall is open for hire, but we ask that hall users continue to take COVID-19 seriously.  Each booking request will have to be carefully considered. At times, there may be legal limits to the types of activities that can be held, and social distancing requirements may be in force that limit the numbers of people and/or households able to use the hall . Please contact us for latest situation. In all cases, the hall management needs to be fully satisfied that proposed hires are appropriate for the current situation, and reserves the right to decline booking requests, and to cancel bookings if the need arises.  For more information and contact details, see: book the hall

New rates came into effect on 1st July 2021, as per the decision of the AGM of 31 May 2021.  The new rates take into account rising running costs, and the fact that hall users are now no longer required to put coins in the meter to cover heating   – heating is now provided free. It is managed from a central thermostat that maintains a low minimum temperature at all times to protect the fabric of the building and to prevent frost damage, and can be scheduled to ensure hall users arrive to find a comfortable temperature ready for them.  Users need no longer shiver for the first half hour.

The standard hall hire charge continues to include free use of the water boiler or kettle, crockery and cutlery, and washing up by hand.  Note that there are supplementary charges (see below) for use of the dishwasher, cooker etc.

The new standard rates per hire (up to a maximum of four hours) are as follows:

  • £15 for regular users*
  • £19 for casual users
  • £38 for trade and political users

Longer hires will be calculated pro rata for each additional two-hour period.

A weekend rate is available by negotiation

Supplementary charges:

  • £5 per hire for use of dishwasher
  • £20 per hire for full use of kitchen, or £10 for regular users*

Deposits:

In addition to the above charges, a deposit will usually be required.  This deposit will be returned once it has been ascertained that no damage has been done, and that the hall has been left clean and tidy.  In the event a booking is cancelled at least 72 hours (i.e. three full days) prior to the booked start-time, any advance payments and deposits will be refunded.

* A regular user is one that uses the Hall at least once per quarter
