The 2015 Big Do was held on Saturday 25 July, in the field opposite the Jubilee Hall. As always, it was a great afternoon out for the whole family, a chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones, and to have fun.
As so often seems to happen we had a few surprises and innovations – the yurt was in one corner, a carousel in another; then through Young Farmers we had a puppet show for the children, and the ‘mad cycle race’, both of which proved very popular
We had the old favourites: children’s fancy dress competition, children’s races, and dog show, along with lots of stalls and attractions.

Meanwhile, in the Jubilee Hall itself, there was the Annual Vegetable, Flower and Handicraft Show – lots of classes, to appeal to everyone, cooks, gardeners, craft-lovers, photographers… with this year a special cake-cookery challenge for men. See the schedule of classes*.
All profits go to the Jubilee Hall, helping towards the cost of running the hall, and thereby keeping the hall hire rates affordable.
Many thanks as always to everyone who helped make the Big Do a success, to the judges for the field events and the flower/veg/craft show, to all those individuals who generously donated items for the raffle and bottle stalls, or who gave their time helping set up before the event, run stalls or clear up afterwards; thanks, too, to Warleggan Young Farmers for both their mad cycle race and their surprise puppet show; special thanks go to Geoff for the use of the field, to John for his MC role, to all the Jubilee Hall committee members and their families and friends for their help in so many ways, and many thanks, too, to those businesses who supported us with prizes and raffle items, including the Colliford Tavern, W.G.D. Rogers & Sons Haulage Ltd., Morrisons, Bricknells Toymaster, Asda, and Robinsons Cornish Meat Co Ltd.
