Duck Race 2017

It was raining before, and it rained after, but we were lucky with the weather when everyone gathered for the duck race on Sunday afternoon, 30th July 2017.

The duck race was the second event of this year’s ‘Big Do’, raising money for the Jubilee Hall.  With a gang of youngsters already in place to collect the arriving ducks by the weir, the ducks were launched and they were guided along, nudged forward every time they got stuck.

Thanks to Nina and everyone else involved in organising and managing the duck race … Thank you to our duck chasers Zak, James and Dom, and our duck catchers Brony, Alistair, Ben, Sophie and Daisy  – plus the little ones on the bank catching! ! Thanks to everyone that came even though we all could have been washed away! ! Thanks for everyone who bought a duck.

1st Prize went to Dee; 2nd to a lady in Cardinham who bought at the last minute; and 3rd went to Daisy. We raised approx £150 for the hall.
