It rained the day before, and the day after – but the sun shone for the Big Do 2018, held on bank holiday Saturday 25 August. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere not only during the event, but as we set up in the morning and cleared up afterwards – thanks to everyone who helped out! And yes, we made almost £800 – which couldn’t have been achieved without you!

As can be seen from the photos below (thanks to photographers Chris, Gavin, Julie R, Louise and Lynda), many people enjoyed the day – and the new offerings – the coconut shy, the hat decoration stall, the bike agility contest, the mini-digger challenge, the chess challenge, the blacksmith display, guessing the weight of a horse, the children’s games and more…

Message from Liz: Does anybody know Wayne Brown? He won the “Guess the weight of Cyril the pony” at the Big Do on Saturday (158 kg – who’d have thought it?) and I have a bottle of wine for him.
Also – did you leave your axe behind in the field? Not sure what you were doing with it, but we have that as well….
