F  o  a few enquiries (thanks very much to those who overcame their shyness and asked “what is it…?)
The leafy greens in todays box are Pak Choi. Excellent in Chinese or Thai style dishes, you can slice the stalks and cook them first, adding the shredded leaves a bit later.
We had ours with noodles, beef, onion and oyster sauce. They would also work steamed and buttered as an alternative to cabbage, or sprinkle a few sesame seeds and soy sauce over them. Baby varieties can be eaten as salad leaves, but yours are probably a bit on the big side to eat raw.
We’ve never done it, but you can half them length wise and char on a hot griddle, perhaps chucking a splash of water over to create a bit of steam to soften them.
We’re always happy to share ideas, and really glad to be asked. happy cooking, let us know what you did!
***This coming week*** If you are feeling tired of remembering to order to our Monday deadline, we are going to offer a repeat ordering service, you can commit to a veggie box, baked goods, dairy and eggs for as long as you like, we will just supply every week until you ask us to change. You will still be welcome to add groceries and dry goods from the list we publish. We can alternate box sizes, eg small one week, medium the next.
Hope this works for some of you, we also think semi skimmed milk is going to be available soon.
Have a great weekend

  1. Just to say that this week (12th April) is my last week at the shop for 5 weeks so no jewellery until 22nd May.

    Kind regards

  2. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me through the year buying my cards and jewellery and wish you all a “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”

  3. I am so pleased to learn it is good for the animals as Summer and Cipolina thoroughly deserved their short (one off) visit today and would like to thank you all for your tolerance and appreciation!
