A New Year in Warleggan
A Happy New Year to all our friends of the Warleggan News website. We’re only 18 months old, and have already had over 50,000 views, and over 240 comments – thanks to everyone for your interest!
2014 in Warleggan starts with a bang:
- Come and join us at the Jubilee Hall for the ceilidh on New Year’s Eve (Tuesday 31st December) – should be a great evening for the whole family, as we welcome back the ever popular musicians Choughed to Bits, who not only play brilliantly, but also guide us through the steps ~ you may remember them from the Jubilee Ceilidh in June 2012? There’ll be soft drinks and a licenced bar, and everyone is asked to bring a plate of food to share, so that we can keep going until the new year begins at midnight. All ages welcome. Starts 8pm. Adults £5; Children £3 ; under 4 free – contact Jasmina 821223 or Gill 821494
- The History Club is then organising this year’s New Year Walk which will take place on Thursday 2nd January. Those interested should gather at the Jubilee Hall, ready for an 11.00am departure. It will be a fairly easy walk of under three miles following the highways and byways around Mount. Returning to the Hall for soup and dessert. Please let Gill know on 821494 if you are able to join us for the lunch and/or the walk.
- Book your places now for the ‘Pub Quiz with a Difference’ to be held at the Jubilee Hall on Saturday 11th January – it’s a Carn to Cove production, with the group ‘Scary Little Girls’, and is said to be very entertaining! Licensed bar. Starts 7pm. Adults £8; Child/OAP £6; Family £22 – contact Liz L. 821551
- Finally a couple of reminders: Village Greens will re-open are its winter break at 9am on Friday 17 January, and the next Lunch Club will be held on Tuesday 28 January.
Full details of all these events, and others, are given on our ‘Upcoming Events‘ page.
Happy New Year!
